An interactive equation editor

SWF File Player is a free program allows you to enjoy flash video content without having an internet connection. The software opens SWF files quickly and can also read metadata tags from any file header. This player is a replacement software for any devices that don’t have proprietary flash players.

For the classroom or the boardroom

Many modern devices have left behind the Flash format, so there has been a decline of its presence on the web. With this app you can play SWF files without internet connection. Flash is still a viable format, and there are many reasons why users would want to continue enjoying this content. SWF player is a portable solution for any device that are missing native flash players.

Revive .SWF

Any video with a .SWF file extension, pronounced “swiff,” is a file created by an Adobe program holding interactive text and graphics. Typically these are movies, but may also be animation files or online games played within a web browser.

Often, SWF files are played within a browser and require an internet connection to play. A browser such as Firefox or Internet Explorer can open any flash content automatically. The issue for many users is accessing the films without a reliable WiFi connection

Many people still have Flash movie content that they want to enjoy that most players won’t play without an internet connection. This is why they turn to SWF player. It’s a completely free software that allows you to take advantage of all of the content that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

Interface

The aesthetics of SWF Player are fairly dull, but that appears to have been done on purpose. The simple and straightforward look of the player limits the size of the file and makes it more portable. The size of the file is small, and it is quick to install on a new system.

Like with the appearance of the player, it’s features are also limited in scope. Again, this was intentional. The size comes a cost of any advanced functions, but it serves the purpose that it’s meant to.

Compatibility and support

SWF Player’s only job is to play flash video and games, and it does so well. Another bonus is that this is freeware, meaning available for download and use at no cost. There are system requirements though, and the computer that you’re installing must have a .NET Framework and Shockwave Flash Object. These are pretty common, so you shouldn’t have to install these.

SWF player can read six types of metadata tags Signature tags, a three-byte FWS, which is an uncompressed SWF or a CWS, which is compressed. The software can also read the 8-bit Version number, file length, frame rate, and total frame count.

Good usability

Once you’ve downloaded the freeware it’s simple to get started. Just click on the “File” menu and select “Open” from the drop-down list. When you select the .swf file, the software will show the metadata tags in a message box, so that you can see the details of your file.

Once you click on “Play” to watch your SWF file, you’ll be able to enjoy your flash content with ease. If your SWF file is a Flash game you can get started playing. If it’s a movie- sit back and relax. If you want to toggle full-screen mode, you just have to use the F11 hotkey. Using this app doesn’t get any more complicated than that.

A relic of tech’s past?

There is a very solid logic behind SWF player’s unpopularity, which simply the fact that flash players and Flash content are becoming obsolete. Despite its ugly gray interface, there are no negatives about this software and it serves its intended purpose well.

For those individuals who need access to flash content without an internet connection or native player, SWF is free and functional. If you prefer to use a program with a more modern interface, then you may consider more advanced players such as VLC media player or SWF Player HD.

Best tool to enjoy swf movies offline :). Html5 that now has been overruling flash for years, has it's restrictions. The level of interaction and visual appeal of flash is still unbeaten. I hope for a serious comeback of flash compatible browsers on mobile devices. So we can finally further progress instead of technologically being bombarded back for decades . Thanks for swf player guys .. A great tool to play swf files offline :)

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
